Roxbury seniors had guest speaker at January meeting

The Roxbury Senior Citizen Club met at the Roxbury Firehall on Tuesday, Jan. 15 with 48 members present. The 50/50 winners were Rose Gerber and Bob Wilk.
President Connie Spinelli introduced the guest speaker, Karen Marshall, from the Legacy Corp of Delaware County, which is associated with the Office for the Aging in Delhi. She is interested in recruiting volunteers to serve as respite caregivers and would appreciate anyone who would call and join.
The regular meeting was opened at 1:05 p.m. The secretary and treasurer‚Äôs reports were accepted as read.
There will be a trip to the Shaver Hill Maple Farm in Harpersfield on Monday, April 7. On Wednesday and Thursday, June 11 and 12 there will be a trip to the Finger Lakes Region. On Wednesday, October 1 there will be the Octoberfest trip and in November there will be a trip to Radio City Music Hall‚Äôs Christmas Show with dates to be announced later.
Members with January birthdays are Julian Sherwood, Dan Chesire and Eleanor Barrack. Alda Metsch announced that a number of members have been sent get well cards including Frank Flachs, Betty Dahlen, Joan Myers, Ralph Smith, Charlotte Kuhnle and Sylvia Grant.
Russ Muir, chairman for the pancake breakfast announced that he will be needing volunteers to help with the breakfast which will be held this year on Tuesday, Feb 19 at 10 a.m. at the Roxbury Firehall. Please remember to bring a place setting.
