Love songs are in the air in Roxbury Saturday
You can get close to your sweetie again this Valentine‚Äôs Saturday with a romantic surrey ride through picturesque Roxbury in an elegant horse drawn brougham,‚ÄÇjust as lovebirds did in the good old days. Then cozy up in Public Lounge to the ‚Äúsweetest sounds‚Äù of Richard Rodgers‚Äô love songs, truffles and champagne.
On Saturday, Feb. 16, Roxbury‚Äôs elegant, red-velvet lined surrey will depart every half-hour by reservation only, from 3 to 9 p.m.‚ÄÇ Be sure to reserve your spot by tomorrow by calling 607 326-3722.
Your romantic evening can begin at the relaxing and intimate Public Lounge on Bridge Street in Roxbury, which will feature Patricia Dell and Kent Brown from 7 p.m., singing the love songs of Richard Rodgers. The Public will offer its full menu a la carte that evening and will also provide an elegant dessert of gourmet chocolate truffles and Freixinet champagne, all set in the candlelit ambience of the Public Lounge‚Äôs cozy, colorful interior. You and your sweetie can enjoy an all-inclusive dinner and surrey ride package for two for $75 inclusive.‚ÄÇ

No reservations are required for dinner at the Public that Saturday, which will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. From 7 p.m., Dell and Brown will be performing at Public for a $5 cover.
Reservations are a must for the half-hour surrey rides (call the Roxbury Parks department at 607 326-3722). A combined surrey ride and Public dinner special (including truffles and champagne) is offered for $75, which also includes the evening‚Äôs musical entertainment.
