Stratton H. Todd, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.
He was born in Margaretville on December 17, 1925 the son of the late Roy and Eunice Jacobson Todd.
He was a native, lifelong resident and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both fishing and hunting.
Stratton was a World War II veteran of the United States Army having achieved the rank of staff sergeant and having earned the Purple Heart Medal serving in the Rhineland.
He was employed at the Ulster County Highway Department having retired approximately 20 years ago after many years of service.
Stratton was a member of the American Legion Town of Middletown Post 216 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars William Lincoln Todd Post 177.
Surviving are his four sons, Charles of Wyoming, Roy of Fleischmanns, Lynn of Florida and Jay of Arkville and a sister, Frances Roberts of Margaretville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jay Paul, Kenneth, Sarah, Elisa and Christopher and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the family plot in the Clovesville Cemetery later in the spring.
