As the daytime weather continues to get warmer here at Regal-Hill, I want to be outside more to clean up winter debris or prepare the ground so I can set out flowers and other plants as we progress toward safer frost-free nights.

One of the most popular spring bushes is out in full bloom, so enjoy the forsythia while you can. No matter where you go it is out. Apparently it all came out at once this year. You can’t miss it with its yellow color. Another bush that is also out now which is white, is called spirea, commonly known as Old Fashion Bridal Wreath.

We have been getting a considerable amount of rain here at Regal-Hill today. Fortunately most of the snow is gone. Water is running everywhere — down the fields, across the fields to and from waterways and everywhere in between.

No one else can forgive you of your sins like He can and never bring them up again.

Local maple producers have tapped their sap bushes and this week they are busy making maple syrup. The weather has been perfect, cold nights and warm sunny days. Here at Regal-Hill 300 plus taps have been made so far. This is our son-in-law’s first year using his new sap house and all of its equipment, so undoubtedly there will be some problems as the season goes along.
