Just like old times...
As a general rule, I don’t “time travel” when it comes to my musical listening experiences. On occasion, I will make an exception. Such was the case over the weekend when I attended the Doobie Brothers show at the Belleayre Music Festival.

Need snooze control
There are few things in life more personal than a pillow. In theory, you spend one-third of your day (or night) in close proximity to a pillow. In reality, five or six hours isn’t bad.

When staying overnight in a hotel or at a friend’s house, it’s common to take note regarding the comfort level provided by the pillow. At the former, a “bad pillow” can be almost as annoying as that $6 bottle of water that seemed so tempting the night before, but caused you to choke when it showed up on your final bill.

History is in the bag
“What about this?” There’s not usually an easy response when my wife asks me this question.
You see the “this” referred to above was the well-worn Pro-Keds duffel bag she was delicately clutching while trying to conceal her mild disgust with the status of this piece of my athletic history. As you may have guessed, the question referred to whether or not I was OK with her throwing out this way-past-its-prime apparatus.

Too many choices
Ordinarily, I don’t write about personal grooming in this space, but I can’t resist this week. You see, I finally broke down and bought a “real” razor and can’t wait to tell the world. Or you.

A Very Solid Experience
As luck would have it, I drew the assignment of covering Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival last weekend. When I say “luck,” I refer to the “good” kind.

I say this because I just happen to be the only staff member at the News who is a fan of this band. For that matter, I’m the only one who has ever heard Wilco or heard of the band. That’s OK, I prefer it that way.
