YMCA sets "Green Hike" Dec. 6
Claryville — A hike focusing on Green Technology will be held at Frost Valley YMCA on Saturday, Dec. 6 starting at 9 a.m. The event will feature a two-mile walk along the Neversink River. Participants will also get a firsthand look at the ways in which Frost Valley is doing its part to minimize the facility’s impact on the earth.
Visitors will learn about Frost Valley’s composting efforts, use of solar power and the other environmental design features that have been implemented at the camp and conference center.
Reid Bauer, natural resources and environmental services coordinator, will lead the hike and explain the ways in which Frost Valley is doing its part to be an environmentally-friendly organization. The hike along the river is on very easy terrain and should be suitable for all participants.
