Workshop focus on developing a board of directors

A nonprofit workshop on “Board 2.0: Recruiting, Developing and Retaining a Motivated Board of Directors in the 21st Century” will be offered by the Council of Community Services of New York State (CCSNYS) on September 13. The presentation will be held from 10 am to noon at The Roxbury Arts Group’s Walter Meade Gallery in Roxbury. Board 2.0: Recruiting, Developing and Retaining a Motivated Board of Directors in the 21st Century will be presented by Valerie Venezia, vice president of membership & marketing, CCSNYS and Andrew Marietta, Central NY Office Manager.
This workshop is designed to convey the importance of board development and its role in the overall functioning of nonprofit organizations. This workshop will emphasize online technologies and their role in the importance of ongoing board development and recruitment, nominating, and retention strategies. Wondering how can nonprofits in rural communities recruit new board members? Wondering how a nonprofit can keep their board members engaged or how online resources can improve board governance? Join CCSNYS staff as they explore this challenging topic for nonprofit boards and how Web 2.0 technologies can help meet this need.
The workshop cost is $20 for CCSNYS members and $30 for nonmembers. Registration can be done online at under “Events” or by calling 607 436-3124. This training is co-sponsored by The Roxbury Arts Group.
