Women’s Wellness Weekend at Frost valley
Claryville — The seventh annual Women’s Wellness Weekend at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville from March 27-29 offers a unique opportunity for women of all ages to get away, recharge and hear from a panel of wellness presenters geared toward giving them the tools for a healthier life. The camp’s location in the heart of the Catskill High Peaks contributes the perfect setting to complement a variety of workshops designed to help participants explore their inner selves through guided activities.
Priscilla Bright returns as the lead facilitator for the weekend, with dynamic group workshops geared to utilizing emotional transformation experiences, drumming, creative arts and spiritual journeying to release blocked energy for a more productive life.
Judith Schafman, a clinical psychologist and teacher trained in classical spiritual direction, will host two sessions focusing on how dream work can increase women’s joy.
Marjorie T. Nieh returns to present a workshop on “A Woman’s Self-Healing.” Her program topics include: Cholesterol, Severe Scoliosis and Migraine; To Take or Not to Take Statins and Let’s Learn More about Cholesterol.
Artist Sharon Suess, a longtime Catskill Mountain resident, has been a popular instructor at the Women’s Wellness Weekend for several years and returns to teach watercolor techniques to “people who don’t paint,” through simple methods women can share with their children, grandchildren and students.
Sheri Ponzi’s workshop encourages women to look inward and connect with the support and guidance that is available to everyone.
Optional activities include therapeutic massage, women’s health classes, art and drumming workshops and yoga or guided hikes to Frost Valley’s observatory for stargazing, a tour of the maple sugaring process, or taking the climbing/zip-line challenge.
Women’s Wellness Weekend is an all-inclusive package including lodging, programs and meals from a check-in snack on Friday evening, March 27 through Sunday lunch.
