Wanda Agnes Monteleone, 90, of Roxbury, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville, where she had lived since June 18, 2003. She was born in Buffalo on May 3, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Agnes (Tartak) Jaremi.
She married Leonard Monteleone in Brooklyn on February 1, 1941.
Wanda had lived in Brooklyn, North Syracuse and Roxbury where she had a home since 1958.
She enjoyed cooking for the family, knitting and crocheting.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Monteleone; daughters, Rose Ann Stahl and Janet Kelly and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Monteleone, November 30, 1992; a son, Leonard in 2006 and a grandson, Matthew in 2001.
A funeral mass was held Friday, May 9 at the Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville.
Burial is in Roxbury Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to the memorial fund of Mountainside Residential Care Center, Margaretville, NY 12455.
Arrangements were by Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury.
