Twilight on the Rails at DURR

Music, food, fun and a little romance play a part in a magical evening as the Delaware & Ulster Railroad rolls out of the Arkville depot on Saturday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m.

The Twilight on the Rails excursion encompasses a lovely evening, rolling fields, passing farms, and the rhythm of the rails as the Delaware & Ulster Railroad offers another moonlit excursion.
For the July 6 ride, the D&U welcomes Blues Maneuver, one of the Catskill Region’s premier special event bands for more than a decade. The group performs at clubs, concerts, music festivals, weddings, parties, corporate events, reunions and other special occasions from Massachusetts to North Carolina, Cooperstown to New York City.

Local flavor
Based in the heart of the Catskills, the six-piece band combines top-notch musicianship, impeccable vocals harmonies and a mighty horn section. The Blues Maneuver band has an eclectic repertoire to suit with tunes from today to the 1940s, including a vast selection of swing, Motown and classic R&B. The band brings an elegant look to the stage, with Art Deco-style music stands and sharp costumes.

The band features front man/vocalist/trombonist David (Luther) Krajicek; music director Jesse (Guitar King) Cohen on lead guitar and alto saxophone; Rebecca Harrington, a talented vocalist who leads the band’s Chicken Shack horn section, on tenor sax, flute and trumpet; vocalist John Heney on bass; vocalist/percussionist John Kincheloe, and Ira McIntosh, another vocalist who plays guitar and mandolin.

The Blues Maneuver released its second recording for Five-Star Entertainment in 2008, “Bona Fide Flip Side Rhythm & Blues,” which features a number of great B-side R&B tunes.
Passengers are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner and beverages of choice. Be sure not to miss this opportunity to hear some of the finest music back-dropped by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Catskills.  Tickets are $17 per person.

Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling the Arkville Depot at 845 586-3877.  The DURR is located on State Route 28 in the hamlet of Arkville.
