Timothy Laurence Reilly, 23, of New York City and Fleischmanns, passed away on July 28, 2008 in Binghamton. He was born in New York City where he attended PS 87, The Delta program at M.S. 54, and was a third generation graduate of Stuyvesant High School. He majored in computer science at Binghamton University.
His life touched many through his extensive network of friends: camper and counselor at Frost Valley YMCA camp in the Catskills; the Unitarian Universalist Metro NY District youth group; youth representative on the Board of Trustees of Community Church of New York; member of Computer and Robotics Engineering (Core) Learning Community and the Association for Computing Machines (ACM). Tim was an avid gamer (board and electronic) and he competed in regional and national computing competitions, as was his passion. Tim derived immense satisfaction from his work as a Physics teaching assistant and as part of an interdisciplinary research team both at Binghamton University.
He is remembered for his generous nature, his droll humor, meticulous appearance, tenacious intellectual discipline and his trade mark apparel—plaid shirts.
Surviving are his sister, Rebecca; parents, Laurence Reilly and Winifred Zubin and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held September 6 at 1 p.m. at the Community Church of New York, 40 East 35th Street, at Park Avenue in Manhattan.
