Tickets available for chamber dinner to be held May 13 at Andes Hotel

Margaretville — The Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting at The Andes Hotel on Wednesday, May 13 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
This is an evening to recognize those businesses that have made significant investments in their businesses which has increased the opportunities for other businesses to grow and prosper. The Special Recognition Awards include: Business Investment Award to Freshtown Supermarket, Noah Katz and Family, Tourism Business Award to The Roxbury, Gregory Henderson and Joseph Massa, and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award to The Commons, Helene and Frank Manzo.
The Corporate Appreciation Awards will go to: DTI Solutions, MTC, Coldwell Banker/ Timberland Properties, The MARK Project, Frank Lumia Real Estate Plus and NBT.
HealthAlliance Chief Executive Officer David Lundquist will be the keynote speaker. Lundquist recently was appointed CEO for the HealthAlliance established when Benedictine Hospital, Margaretville Hospital and the Kingston Hospital formally integrated services earlier this year. He has a distinguished career in health care management since 1976, most recently as the CEO of Saint Claire’s Health System in Denville, N.J., where he helped turn around Saint Claire’s, transforming it from an entity with $80 million in losses to a prominent and profitable health system.
Lundquist is an appropriate speaker during Wellness Week which takes place from May 8 through May 17 offering a series of events and programs created by the Wellness Task Force a new collaboration of the following organizations: Margaretville Hospital, the Auxiliary of Margaretville Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center, the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce, Delaware County Cooperative Extension, Delaware County Office of the Aging, Margaretville Central School, MARK Project, Blue Deer Center and Delaware Opportunities.
The following public programs are a brief listing of what is being planned: May 8, Hospital health fair, FoodPlay presentation at area schools, MCS Health Fair and marathon; May 16, Catskill Scenic Ride-n-Peak cycling and afternoon barbecue chicken sale at the pavilion in Margaretville and an open house to celebrate the rural health care system and Margaretville Hospital and its Auxiliary on Sunday, May 17 at The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville.
