The heat of Louisiana at MARK fund-raiser
Roxbury —Think sun, think warm, and prepare to celebrate. On Feb. 28 at The Roxbury Arts Center The MARK Group will introduce its first ever “community development” event that is sure to serve as a cure for cabin fever.
All are invited to a Louisiana Saturday Night that brings the traditional Zydeco sounds of the Bayou right to your front door. This event comes complete with a Cajun/Creole cook off, red beans and rice, and the spicy blend and up tempo Zydeco beat of Ithaca’s Li’l Ann & Hot Cayenne, and is a surefire way to shake off the winter doldrums and usher in the thoughts of spring.
Those Emerill Lagasse wannna-bes will also have a chance to get fired up with a Cajun Creole Cooking contest. Details and guidelines are available by contacting the MARK Group—you must be a ticket holder to enter the cook-off.
With ice melt and sand lining the steps of our neighborhoods, this chance to gather and “heat” up the night is sure to sell out so reservations are a must. Tickets are $25 per person, discounted to $20 per person when booking a table of eight or more.
