Thanks to all who helped with Mville Thanksgiving Dinner

To the Editor:
Thank you to everyone who supported the Margaretville area Community Thanksgiving Dinner on November 28. Attendance was affected by the weather and the flu, but it was a great dinner that served about 90 people in the Purcell Center, and provided another 30 people with takeout meals.
Our community was more generous than ever before in their support of the dinner. In fact, Freshtown donated all of the food ordered from them, as did the Flour Patch with their rolls. After other expenses were paid, we ended up with a surplus of almost $1,500 that will support the work of the Community Pantry.
I wish that there was space to acknowledge everyone by name, but I know that I’d misssomeone in the process. I do want to thank the rest of the organizing committee of Carol O’Beirne, Rae Brenner, Terry Marks, Iris Mead, and Father Frank Betancourt.
We also want to recognize Sacred Heart Church for providing the space, and Dick Tucker for the live music to accompany our dinner.
To everyone else who baked a pie, provided food, roasted turkeys, served or cleaned up, or gave money to pay the bills, thank you very much!
