Tabletop fund-raiser June 13, 14 at RAG

Some of Central Catskills most imaginative designers will converge once again at The Roxbury Arts Group on Vega Mountain Road to create “The Most Beautiful Night in the Catskills.” The sixth annual “Over the Tops Tabletops” is chaired this year by RAG Vice President Michael Mathis and co-chaired by Bonnie Walker. Funds raised by this sumptuous affair will support RAG’s expanding cultural and educational programming in Delaware County.
The festivities begin on Friday, June 13, when RAG hosts the Tabletops Preview from 5 to 7 p.m. The ever-popular main event will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s sponsors include Coldwell Banker/Timberland Properties, The Sluiter Agency, M Gerard Interiors, Glen Pedersen and Dan Williams, Hobart Book Village, Margaretville Memorial Hospital, Delhi Stories, Central Catskills Abstract Co., and Michael Mathis.
The Tabletops Preview is a great way for visitors who cannot attend the main event to admire the table designs, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, and local Ommegang Brew, and to try their chances for great raffle prizes. Tickets for the Friday preview are $10.
Tickets for the elegant main event on Saturday are available for $85. The evening begins with a cocktail hour, as guests place bids on highly desirable silent auction selections, such as premium tickets to cultural events, sporting activities, home services, health and beauty treatments, original artwork and crafts, fun and innovative packages and more. The evening will continue with a sit-down dinner at 7:30, catered by Mary’s Cookin’ Again, and a live auction of appealing items, led by Dennis Metnick. Entertainment will be provided by Joe Piasek, Jefferson Piasek, and friends
The crowd-pleasing table themes range from stylish formality to lighthearted whimsy. This year’s roster of talent includes Richard Simms, Donald Hill, David Crompton, Roxbury Arts Group/76 Main! (Susan Kenny, Maggie Cullen, Amy Metnick and Kent Brown), Phyllis Horowitz, John Tufillaro, Pam Peterson, Alec Walker, Sasha Leifer, Andes Central School art students, Catskill Community Garden Club, Susan Dennison, Sheila Beemer, Marilyn Donnelly, Donna Rossman, Bonnie Walker, Gerry Murphy, and Michael Mathis.
