"Summertree" will debut at The Open Eye Theater

For its second summer production, The Open Eye Theater presents the play “Summertree” by Ron Cowen, which opens on August 21 and runs through August 31. Although the play was written in 1967, the underlying story is still relevant today. Director David Turan says the universal messages in the play are timeless, “This play really focuses on families, especially the relationships between parents and their sons.”
The Open Eye Theater’s mission is to provide diverse audiences in Margaretville and the surrounding Catskill Mountain communities with quality live theater productions, and offer professional theater training and education programs designed to encourage and challenge performers of all ages in the performing arts.
Summertree runs from August 21 through August 31 at the Open Eye Theater at 960 Main Street in Margaretville. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, contact the box office at 586-2727 or visit www.theopeneye.org.
