September 24, 2008: Saving Belleayre is a top priority
To The Editor:
There was a huge turnout with various groups including the Coalition to Save Belleayre, Catskill Heritage Alliance, representatives from the towns of Middletown and Shandaken as well as representatives from both Bonacic and Hinchey’s offices at a meeting held on September 13 at Belleayre. This meeting was an effort to get everyone to unite for the best interests of Belleayre and the business community it serves.
Belleayre is an anchor in this area for tourism. We need the public to write letters to Governor Paterson and local representatives. The Belleayre employees, as well as local businesses, will be affected by the proposed closing of Belleayre. The more they hear from us the better the chances that they will rescind their decision. Write your letters, e-mail them or call them but do it before it is too late!
