Sarah Lillvik and Casey Moore
Bengt and Gunborg Lillvik of Jakobstad, Finland and Randy and Patricia Moore of Margaretville have announced the engagement of their children, Sarah Lillvik and Casey Moore.
Sarah is a student at Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pa., where she is an exercise science major. She plans on becoming a physical therapist.
Casey is a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy where he is a chemistry major. Casey returned home Friday after completing a summer internship at Åbo Akademi University in Åbo, Finland where he studied organic materials for solar cells. Casey is a great-grandson of longtime Catskill Mountain News publisher Clark A. Sanford.
The couple met while Sarah was a Rotary International exchange student at Margaretville Central School during the 2005-2006 school year.
The Moore family celebrated the engagement Saturday with a party and chicken barbecue for approximately 40 friends and family members at the family camp on Cole Hill near Margaretville.
A 2011 wedding is being planned.
