Santa Claus is coming to town!

Margaretville – Lots of Holiday Cheer will be shared when Santa comes to Margaretville on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Main and Bridge street small businesses will be offering specials to honor Santa’s visit. The Flour Patch is now making pies and you can buy a slice with a cup of coffee on Saturday and get a 40 percent coupon off any holiday ornament at the Village Homemaker, located right next store on Bridge Street. Community businesses will be offering deals and will have extended hours on this day so come down and stop in to each store and eatery to start your Holiday shopping and support local businesses this season.

Children’s activities
There will be lots for kids to do too! From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at two locations: the Catskill Artisans’ Guild’s Arts Workshop will offer arts and crafts activities at their location in The Commons Building and Lenore Remy and her team of elves will welcome children to visit them while their parents shop, for games, letter writing to Santa, ornament and gift bag making and lots more. Their activities are at the new ECenter (across from NBT) at 724 Main where Santa will come to meet the children from 4 until 5:45 p.m.
Bring your camera to get that all-important annual photograph.
Hay Rides and Caroling will be a highlight of the day when the Fairbairn Family will take holiday revelers for a hayride around the village. Printed songbooks will be available to help you sing along. Meet at the Binnekill Park between 3 and 5 p.m. to enjoy this activity.

Musical entertainment
Enjoy live music at two locations. Community voices will be heard singing from the Sacred Harp Tunebook from 3 to 4 p.m. at The Commons Main Street Storefront and the Catskill Mountain Christian

Church (CMCC) choir will sing Christmas music and offer a Live Nativity scene at the church on Main.
At 5:45 p.m. the CMCC choir will guide the caroling at the lighting of the Villages Christmas Tree (located next to the CCCC Information Booth) on Main at 6 p.m.
Throughout the day enjoy hot cocoa, cider and donuts donated by Freshtown Marketplace at two locations: the CCCC Information Booth and the ECenter where Migliolleti’s Farm has also donated apple cider too help us have a wonderful and cheery day full of seasonal fun.
Remember November 30 begins the seasonal campaign to Shop Local and Support Small Businesses in every community across the country. This is a great time to get to know your local merchants, restaurants and small businesses in your community.
