There will be a joint Thanksgiving Eve service on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Roxbury United Methodist Church together with the Gould Memorial Church — the community is invited.
Manny Birittieri, is presently enjoying a vacation from his duties as postmaster. He will officially retire on December 3 after 32 years in the post office department. He has been postmaster at Roxbury since February 2005. We will miss seeing him there but wish him the best in his retirement.
Jonathan Dykstra is enrolled as a sophomore at Northwestern University in Orange City, Iowa and reports that he is enjoying college life there.
George Tischmacher recently visited Marjorie Soderlind at the new Robinson Terrace annex in Stamford. She transferred there from Robinson Terrace. He reports the facility as a beautiful place. There is a large refrigerator in her room which even contains an ice maker. Open house was held there Saturday afternoon, November 12 from 2-4 p.m.
Jim Finch tells us that his sister, Doris Martindale, is a patient at the Margaretville Hospital.
Our community suffered a great loss when Ronnie Ballard left us on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Our sympathy is extended to his wife and family members.
