Richard B. Every, 85, of Hemet CA, died October 27, 2013 at North Valley Sub Acute Care center in Tujunga, CA.
Dick was born in Davenport Center on May 22, 1928, the son of Richard and Florence (Boyes) Every. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He earned the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and two bronze stars. After serving in the U.S. Army he became a meat cutter and worked at the Victory Market in Margaretville.
On September 10, 1961 he married Ina Mae Green, a former resident of Margaretville. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed wood working, square dancing, cross country skiing, playing cards, and shuffleboard.
Dick is survived by his stepdaughter, Jean Schindelheim and her husband Robert, his stepson, Sandy Scudder and his wife Margaret; his grandchildren, Victor Scudder, Rodney Scudder, Paul Scudder, Crystal Scudder, Jeremy Schindelheim, and Jordan Schindelheim and nine great grandchildren. He also is survived by his nieces, Donna Schmidt and Denise Moulton and his nephews Jack and Gary Every.
Dick was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Ina (Green) Every and his brother, John Every.
There will be a memorial service for Dick on November 23, 2013 at the United Methodist Church
