RAG seeks volunteer help

Roxbury — The Roxbury Arts Group depends on the hard work of its volunteer force and the support of our sponsors. Whether it’s the army of volunteers who helped us recover from Hurricane Irene’s damage to our buildings in Roxbury, or the ‘regulars’ who invariably step up to the plate to help with all our events and performances, our volunteers and sponsors make the Roxbury Arts Group possible.

Our ongoing workshop, Writers’ Evening, the monthly jam session Open Mic Night held at 76 MAIN! in Stamford, dance classes in ballet, hip-hop, Belly and Bollywood, tap, creative movement for youngsters and yoga-dance, and our upcoming gathering for hand knitters at the Old Bank Gallery in Roxbury, Knitters’ Sunday, all rely on volunteers.

Volunteering for The Roxbury Arts Group is fun. Volunteers get to attend the event free, be part of an organization that supports the arts, work with a great group of people with similar interests and possibly meet new friends.

We need volunteers for performances, to serve refreshments, host receptions, provide or arrange flowers, landscaping and grounds work, make telephone calls, work in the office, help with mailings, take photographs and tend the galleries.

If you’d like to use your vehicle to distribute posters and fliers we’ll reimburse you for gas. We’d also like to know if you’d be interested in teaching a workshop for kids or adults. There are many ways you can get involved.

If you’d like to volunteer or become a sponsor e-mail the Roxbury Arts Group at info@roxburyartsgroup.org or call 607 326-7908.
