Patriotic Tournament benefits Parkinson's fight
The Second Parkinson’s Patriotic Tournament, a golf tournament to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Shephard Hills Golf Course in Roxbury. The red-white-blue scramble tournament will be played with a four-person captain and crew format, and six holes each will be played from the red, white and blue tees; mulligans and skins will also be featured. The $60 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, and dinner.
The tournament kicks off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.; dinner will follow the tournament at 6 p.m.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available to local businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring golf holes during the tournament.
The golf tournament is organized under the umbrella of Team Fox, the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s grassroots community project raising funds and awareness for Parkinson’s research. The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today.
