Oral history project finale will be Friday in Pine Hill

Pine Hill — The Pine Hill Community Center would like to invite you to the grand finale of our oral history project on Friday, April 23 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Students of Kevin LaMonda’s sixth-grade class at Phoenicia Elementary School have spent the last several months gathering local histories through interviews with eight Catskill elders. Using the material they gathered, the students have been working on various creative projects and will present them at the April 23 event.

After a potluck supper at 6 p.m. those in attendance will be treated to poems, songs, reenactments and maybe a short video or two. There will be time to share what the experience has been like for both youngsters and elders, and to socialize after the presentations. We hope you will come to give your support to these hardworking students and to the elders who shared their stories with them.
The event is free, but please consider bringing a dish to share.
