Open Eye holds casting call for December performances
One more actor is needed to complete the cast for a new stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel “The Cricket on the Hearth,” performing in early December at The Open Eye Theater in Margaretville. Amie Brockway has written the script for this festive holiday play with music, and Monica Wildermuth will direct. The available role is John Peerybingle, age 30s-50s, described as a parcel carrier—the mid-19th century equivalent of our present-day UPS or Fedex man. The story of the play revolves around Peerybingle, his family, friends, and the Cricket on his hearth.
Auditions are by appointment. Actors will be asked to read from the script. Also needed for “The Cricket on the Hearth” performances December 4-8 are a light board operator and several volunteers. For further information, or to arrange for an audition, please phone The Open Eye Theater at 586-1660 or e-mail email@example.com.
