NYC land acquisition study will be the subject of meetings
Delhi — Delaware County will present the findings of the New York City Watershed Economic Impact Assessment Report conducted by Downeast Development Consulting Group.
Delaware County commissioned the Downeast Development Consulting Group in the summer of 2008 to examine the potential impacts of the New York City Land Acquisition Program. The report was presented to the county board of supervisors on May 13. Presentations for the general public provide an opportunity to become informed, comment on and ask questions of the findings from the assessment. The public is encouraged to attend one of the following public presentations from 7-9 p.m. on July 23 at Delhi Central School; on July 27 at Margaretville Central School and on August 4 at Walton Central High School.
The presentation includes information on potential impacts to the local economy, property taxes, land values, demographics and recommendations for the, city, state and county to pursue.
