New CEO, GM named at Emerson Resort & Spa
Mt. Tremper — Emily Fisher and Dean Gitter, owners of Emerson Resort & Spa, have announced the appointment of Naomi Umhey as chief operating officer and Tracy Lynch as general manager. Between them, the two long-time executive team members share nearly 27 years experience working for the property.
“We are thrilled to appoint Naomi as chief operating officer and Tracy as general manager,” says Fisher. “It is no surprise that these difficult economic times have required us to re-examine our business plan and approach. Naomi and Tracy’s experience, creativity and insight have been instrumental in streamlining and developing new efficiencies, which we believe will ensure our future success. Gitter added, “We’re confident they will both continue to excel in their new positions.”
Umhey’s career with the Emerson includes management positions in almost every aspect of the resort’s operations. She has served as general manager of the Country Store, general manager of maintenance, information technology and property services, and is consulted often for her expertise on the company’s real estate and land holdings.
Starting in 1998 in retail for the Country Store, Lynch was quickly promoted to the accounting department where she gained extensive knowledge of the property and its operations. After serving as financial controller, she embarked upon a new path in the position of sales director. Her tenure, expertise and passion for promoting the Emerson led to success in placing Emerson Resort & Spa on the map as a leading corporate and group meeting destination.
In their new roles, both Umhey and Lynch will be responsible for financial planning, goal setting and overall daily operations.
