Molnar takes silver at conference

During the March 24-27 NYS Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) annual State Leadership Conference, Alexis Molnar of Margaretville received a rating of silver for her Promote and Publicize campaign for FCCLA.
Her efforts qualified her to represent New York State at the National Convention being held this July in Chicago, Illinois at the Hyatt Regency Convention Center where student members will gather from all 50 states and provinces.
Also attending the state conference were Christopher DeLiz, Thalia Gil, Tiffany Nobile and Diane Perez. Diane will finish her year as district president in June and Thalia Gil will complete her year as district vice president, also in June.
The theme of the conference was “Turn Back the Clock” which reflected the past 65 years of this organization and focused on what is to come in the future.
All delegates attended informative workshops such as “Communication Skills,” “Health and Nutrition Awareness” (with the national guard), “Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention” and “Benefits of Volunteerism.” The meeting ended with the installation of the new executive council student members who will plan for the next state meeting of 2011.
