Miriam Van Keuren

Miriam “Mick” Van Keuren, 88, of Canandaigua, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
She passed away comfortably in her recliner with a cup of hot coffee on the table and her Westerns on the television.
Mick was born September 22, 1919. Her 1937 high school classmates in Margaretville, voted her the most popular girl in school.
During her life, Mick earned a letter in girls’ basketball; starred in several school plays; held offices in school governance; worked in a war plant during World War II and lived the life of a military wife for many years.
She loved old movies, history, the English language, family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Robert (Karen) Van Keuren of Canandaigua, David (Connie) Van Keuren of San Diego, CA and twin daughters, Kathryn Ross of Napa Valley, CA and Susan (Angelo) Diaz of Tampa, FL and nephew, Watson George of Arkville. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Watson Freer Van Keuren.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life on Wednesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Road, Canandaigua.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Vienna Gardens Activity Fund, 144 Main Street, Phelps, NY 14532.
