Miller earned degree in veterinary medicine
Paige Elizabeth Miller, the daughter of Fred and Rebecca Miller of Margaretville, was awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA on May 13.
Dr. Miller is a 2004 graduate of Margaretville Central School, where she was the salutatorian of her class and where she was active in advanced science research. She was also a member of the MCS Blue Devils’ 2002 NYS Section IV Championship soccer team coached by the late Dan Cohen.
Paige is a 2008 graduate of Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, where she earned a BS degree in biological sciences. At Cornell she was a pledge educator for Alpha Zeta and led the Western Equestrian Team. She also worked at Cornell’s Equine Research Park.
After finishing her undergraduate degree in Ithaca, Paige spent a year working at the Grand Gorge veterinary practice of Dr. Dan Sullivan.
Following graduation, Paige accepted a one-year internship beginning in June in equine medicine at Hanover Shoe Farm in Hanover. PA.
Dr. Miller has wanted to be a vet since she was a child, strongly believing that the best thing for the inside of a human being is the outside of a horse or dog or pet of any kind. She looks forward to a long career in her chosen field.
