MCS budget passes; Warner elected to school board

Voters in the Margaretville Central School District have spoken, and for the second year in a row, they told an incumbent Board of Education member that it was time for a change.
Challenger Doris Warner easily defeated Kurt Holcherr to win a three year term on the Board. Unofficial totals indicated Warner received 167 votes to 102 for Holcherr.
Last year incumbent Board President Randy Moore was easily defeated by challenger Terry Johnson.
Warner told the News she is very pleased and is looking forward to the challenge.
Warner is a former employee of the Catskill Mountain News.
And by an unofficial 177-79 margin, voters in the MCS district approved a new budget of $10,842,000. the tax levy will increase by 2.49 percent.
