Marie A. Fronckowiak, 69, a resident of Olivebridge, and formerly of Arkville, died November 18, 2013 at Kingston.
Marie was born November 1, 1944 in Queens, the daughter of Arthur A. and Dorothy E. (Teneyck) Dury.
She graduated from Newtown High School in Queens. Marie was an avid sports fan and was a huge New York Yankees and New York Giants supporter. She played in women’s softball leagues and also was the scorekeeper for the Fleischmanns Softball League. In the 1980s she was an assistant coach for the Margaretville Central School softball team.
Marie is survived by her son, Jake Fronckowiak; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Pat Dury; three sisters, Debra, Barbara and Patricia Dury; three nieces, Staci Dury (Jason) Singer, Helen Dury, and Katherine Dury (Ronald) Benevento; a nephew, Adam Dury and grand niece and grand nephew, Olivia and Michael Benevento.
Marie was predeceased by Arthur A. Dury, Dorothy E. Teneyck Dury, and Raymond C. Dury.
Calling hours were held at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville on Friday November 22, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, Margaretville. Rev. Steven Scarmozzino was the celebrant.
A committal services will be held at a later date at the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
Donations in memory of Marie Fronckowiak may be made to the sports program at Margaretville Central School.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home.
