Local grad inducted into college Hall of Fame
An alumna of Andes Central School received distinguished athletic attention last month with her induction into her college’s athletic Hall of Fame.
Jennifer Ruff Osborne, a 1990 graduate of ACS and the daughter of Mel and June Ruff of Andes, was inducted to the St. John Fisher College Hall of Fame on Oct. 2. Osborne, a 1994 graduate of the college, was a four-year basketball player at St. John Fisher, where she helped guide the Division-III Cardinals to the NCAA tournament in four consecutive seasons. In her senior season, Ruff led the team to an undefeated regular season, a New York State Women’s College Athletic Association title, and an appearance in the NCAA tournament, where they advanced to the Round of 16. That year, Ruff averaged 12 points and nine rebounds per game, and received All-Region honors. She was also named to five separate all-tournament teams.
Osborne graduated from St. John Fisher with a degree in communication/journalism, and lives near Lexington, Ky., with her husband, Tracy.
