Local election results

One of the two seats up for grabs on the Middletown Town Council will be decided by the absentee voters. After votes were tallied from Tuesday's election, counts showed incumbent Michael Finberg had won one of the two seats available on the town council; Democratic candidate John Bernhardt and Republican Jacob Rosa were tied for the remaining seat.

Voting officials estimate that results from the tallying of the absentee ballots would not be available for another week.
Finberg took a total of 465 votes, while Bernhardt and Rosa were tied at 387 votes apiece.

Results from local elections in Andes, Bovina, Middletown and Roxbury will be published to the Catskill Mountain News Web site as they are made available.

Contested races on Tuesday's ballot included two seats on the Andes Town Council, the position of Bovina Superintendent of Highways, two seats on the Middletown Town Council, and the position of the Roxbury Tax Collector.
