Leonard L. Logan, 82, of DeNicola Road, Halcott Center, died peacefully at home, with his family at his side on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
He was born December 12, 1926 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Cusack Logan.
An area resident for the past 27 years, he had formerly resided in New Jersey.
Leonard was a New York/New Jersey District Manager for the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. He was a United States Naval veteran of World War II having earned the Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The Protective & Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge #2290, the New Milford Ambulance Squad and the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed tinkering with things and masonry projects around the property.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Teri Canty Logan; three sons, Edward, Gerry and Lawrence all of New Jersey and daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen Logan and Wendy Ramazana of New Jersey and two daughters; Judith Anne Logan Visich of West Kill and Noel Logan of Halcott Center; son-in-law Charles F. Visich of West Kill; a sister, Margaret Mary Logan O’Brien of New Jersey and two brothers, Albert and Donald, both of Florida; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Ann’s Church in Sawkill on Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Christopher Berean as celebrant.
Burial was in the Canty Family Plot at St. Ann’s.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the E.B. Gormley Funeral Home, Main St., Phoenicia.
