Leave the birds alone

To The Editor:
Re your article on the capture and tagging of a golden eagle as part of study project, it is shameful that we can’t leave the birds alone.
The large transmitter box, which was attached to the bird, may have some influence on its flight and ultimate health. Satisfying the students’ curiosity on genetic differences and habits of the bird is not worth interfering unnecessarily with our beautiful wildlife.
Humans are the most invasive species ever on the planet!  Those students would best be served by studying how we are contributing to global warming.
