Kasanof receives Bushnell Award from NYCCT
Anton N. Kasanof, a trustee of Columbia-Greene Com-munity College, received the Anne M. Bushnell Memorial Award March 12 from the New York Community College Trustees, at the organization’s 56th annual conference in Saratoga Springs.
The Bushnell award is granted for special achievement. Kasanof was cited for his outstanding service and contributions to C-GCC, NYCCT and the field of education.
Kasanof, served as chairman of C-GCC’s Board of Trustees from 1999 to 2003, served as president of NYCCT from 2006 to 2009. Last year he was awarded NYCCT’s Special Award of Recognition.
During Friday’s NYCCT award ceremony, which was held at the Gideon Putnam, Kasanof was cited for his contributions to such key developments at C-GCC as the reaccredidation process, the expansion of the day care center and the development of academic programs. Also highlighted were his promotion of the enrollment of international students and his induction as an honorary member of Phi Theta Kappa Honorary Society.
In addition, Kasanof was honored for his role in furthering the NYCCT’s standing within the State University of New York and the community at large.
