Journaling with Ev Ellsworth

in

Margaretville — Writers in the Mountains (WIM) will present one of its most popular classes, Journaling with Ev Ellsworth, at Fairview Library in Margaretville, for six Tuesday morning sessions, from 10 a.m. to noon, January 8 through February 12.

Ev Ellsworth, one of WIM’s most insightful, understanding and popular teachers, helps even the most skeptical and scared novice dare to write. Ev is expert at offering writers, from new diarists to veteran journal-keepers, the tools and support they need to ease into journaling, deepen their journaling abilities and nurture their creative expression.

Ev, a remarkable “journalist” herself, is sensitive to the journaling process and creates an encouraging class environment for participating writers. Class participants agree to write several pages weekly, read them aloud in class, listen to the work of other class members, and join in discussions of the work and the craft of writing.

Ev taught English in Northern New Jersey for many years. She served as the director of WIM for two years and remains active with the organization. She leads WIM’s Journaling with Ev Ellsworth classes both in winter and summer.
