John Scarpulla and Friends at Carriage House

in

Stamford — The Roxbury Arts Group (RAG) is proud to present a New England favorite, singer-songwriter John Scarpulla, in a series designed to highlight the intimacy and ambiance of the Carriage House Theater at 76 MAIN! in Stamford.
Three evenings titled “John Scarpulla & Friends” feature Scarpulla, along with a guest artist whose music and style impressed him so much while on tour that he just had to bring them to the Catskill community to enjoy. All three performances for “John Scarpulla & Friends” at 76 MAIN!, 76 Main Street, Stamford, will be at 7:30 p.m. and TP’s Café will be on location serving food for audience members to purchase.
On July 27, Scarpulla will again take to the stage and open the evening with a set of his original music. “If you have never heard a Scarpulla song, you must come and hear him” says Jenny Rosenzweig, the executive director for the Roxbury Arts Group. “There is a reason why jazz bassist Joe Fonda described his music as, “true lyrical poetry that is rooted in the blues and has a deep groove.”
Joining Scarpulla on July 27 is rising star Sophie Gault. Born in Maryland and raised on the eastern shore, Gault was first influenced by her father’s love of rhythm and blues. She has emerged as an Americana singer/songwriter whose energy, rich voice, and foot-stomping guitar playing define her performances.

A true standout
Tracy Coleman from MixFM had this to say about Gault, “I always enjoy meeting musicians and hearing their music. There are many very talented people out there but few that really stand out. Sophie Gault is one of the few.”
Advance Tickets for all of the John Scarpulla & Friends performances are $11 for adults and $9 for seniors and students. All tickets purchased the day of the event are $16.
