Jean R. D’Antoni, 76, a resident of Grand Gorge, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at Albany Medical Center.
Jean was born December 11, 1936 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Salvatore and Vincenza (Montes) La Magna. She married Guido D’Antoni on April 23, 1960 in Queens.
Jean retired from Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City after 26 years of service. Before retiring, she was the manager of the Medical Department. Moving to Grand Gorge, she became very active in the community of Grand Gorge and the Town of Roxbury. She served as secretary to the Roxbury Town Planning Board and was active with the Grand Gorge Senior Club and the Grand Gorge Community Action Group.
Jean is survived by husband, Guido D’Antoni; two sons, Richard and Ronald D’Antoni; a grand daughter, Samantha and a brother, Thomas LaMagna.
Calling hours were held at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury on Friday Nov. 1, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at St. Philip Neri R.C. Church, Grand Gorge with the Rev Michael Cambi as celebrant.
Committal prayers followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
