Jack Grace Band returns to Andes March 8
One of the Andes Hotel’s all-time favorites, the Jack Grace Band, will keep you wanting more on Saturday, March 8.
Jack Grace is a singer, songwriter and guitarist hailing from Brooklyn. Simple enough, unless you happen to work in the music business. The entertainment world loves a label: character actor, avant-garde painter, and awesome musician. Jack writes for himself and plays for others. It’s that simple. He has performed with Merle Haggard, Doc Watson, Junior Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis,The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Louvin (The Louvin Brothers), Dan Hicks, Norah Jones, and Wayne Hancock.
The Village Voice quotes, “NYC someday will brag about its great legends of country music, that’s right we said country, and among those names will be the engaging, hardworking, witty, and schmoozin’ and boozin’ Grace.”
Alan Young of the New York Press raved, “What sets his songs apart from rest of the country or alt-country scene is his laugh-out-loud, absurdist wit. Not only is this a great party album and a great driving album but it’s also very smart and very funny.” Kevin Canfield, writing for the New York Times, exclaimed, “Make no mistake: Jack Grace is an old-fashioned country musician.” Except that he isn’t.
There is no cover charge. The hotel will be serving dinner and its tavern menu until 9:30 p.m. The Andes Hotel is located at 110 Main St, Andes. Call 676-3980 for information and reservations.
