Iva Terry Andes Invitational Golf Tournament in Delhi Aug. 16

Andes — The 28th annual Iva Terry Andes Invitational Golf Tournament will be held at the Delhi College Golf Course on Sunday, Aug. 16.
The tournament is open, by invitation, to anyone who has lived or worked in Andes, their family and friends. The tournament format is a four- person Captain and Crew with a shotgun start promptly at 1 p.m.
Tournament registration begins at 10 a.m. Early registration is advised to avoid any delay on the day of the tournament. There will be free use of the driving range for registered participants to sharpen their game.
Following golf, an awards dinner will be held at The Andes Hotel. The traditional “dish to pass” will be appreciated to complement the food and drink supplied by the tournament.
For 2009, as a result of past participation, the tournament generated $1,000 in college scholarships for Andes residents. This includes $500 for the ongoing, newly titled Dick and Betty Cole scholarship, created by the tournament. In addition, the scholarship program to aid graduate and nontraditional students re-entering higher education has been continued.
Application for the tournament can be made to Brad Anderson at the Andes branch of the National Bank of Delaware County or call Nick Burton at 676-3911. Family teams are given special consideration.
This is Andes’ biggest participation event of the year. The number of entries will be limited so register early.
