Harvest brunch and auction at Open Eye

Margaretville — The annual transition from theater arts to culinary arts and bargaining skills will take place at The Open Eye Theater, on Veteran’s Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, at noon, with tables laden with luscious homemade dining delights for all tastes, and live musical entertainment.

At 1:15 sharp, the focus will shift to an auction of spectacular donated goods and services to be purchased by lucky bidders. Dessert will be served at 2:30, and the drawing for lucky winners of the Lisbeth Firmin painting “Wakeman and Main,” a pair of Broadway tickets to the winner’s choice of shows, and a cutting board by Walter Putrycz will take place. Everyone wins at this event.

Great food
Open Eye Theater Trustee Gail Lennstrom, who serves as chair of the event said, “Our guests will find a sumptuous meal, with roast ham, turkey and our signature baked salmon with assorted sauces. We’ll have custom-made pancakes with apples and walnuts, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, and an array of breads. Save room for the desserts of homemade pies and other unique sweets. Beverages will be special as well with gourmet coffee and teas. Best not to eat dinner the night before.”

“We’re very happy to announce that Chuck MacIntosh will conduct the one-hour auction starting at 1:15 p.m. There are exotic items like a 45-minute parlour magic show at your home by Art Martello, singing lessons by Patricia Dell; four hours work by home improvement contractor services by B. J. Mathis, dinner for two at the Andes Hotel, a Junior Feast from ChaCha Hut BBQ, a one-hour massage in your home by Marge Helenchild LMT, a beautiful pottery teapot from Robin Bruck-Tannner, and gift certificates galore, including $50 from the new Phoenicia Diner, another from The Public in Roxbury.

More prizes
Also: oil changes, haircuts, bowling, golf, a holiday gourmet gift basket from the Cheese Barrel, flower arrangement from Wildflowers, yoga classes, a fresh turkey from Peace Acres, and much, much more! A silent auction table will hold many special items.”

The annual Harvest Brunch and Auction at noon on Sun. Nov. 11, helps bring The Open Eye Theater productions to life and supports arts-in-education programming in local schools.
