Golf tourney July 20 raises money for auxiliary

The ninth annual Golf Tournament hosted by Auxiliary of Margaretville Memorial Hospital and Mountainside Residential Care Center will be held Sunday, July 20 starting at 11 a.m. at Hanah Country Resort, Margaretville. Mary Fuhrer and her committee members are preparing for this great event which is now being held in memory of Mary’s husband, Howard. The golf package includes coffee, tea, pastries and baked goods at check-in, green fees, golf cart and an after-golf dinner buffet.
New this year will be a barbecue lunch at the turn. The cost of the golf package is $70. For non-golfers, the dinner buffet is $25. There will also be an auction featuring a handmade afghan made by Pat Gallagher.
“This is a great event and all proceeds will benefit the Auxiliary’s campaign to provide funds to the hospital for the purchase of a four-wheel-drive ambulance which is much-needed in this community. We will have ‘thank you’ goodie bags for our golfers and would recommend that reservations be made in order to make sure we have ample supplies,” commented Auxiliary President Sue Adams.
As part of the day’s events, the Auxiliary will present a plaque to Mary honoring Howard for all his hard work in making this tournament so successful.
“And we can’t forget all that Mary Fuhrer has done when she stepped in and chaired this event for the past two years and for that, we are very thankful,” Mrs. Adams added.
Golfers and non-golfers are invited to support the Auxiliary for this fund-raising event. For more information please call Sue at 845 586-1175 or Penny at 845 586-2631, ext. 3181.
