Garden Tour sponsored by library

The Andes Public Library will sponsor a benefit tour of 12 gardens on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the theme of “The Early Summer Garden.” Maps showing the location of each garden may be purchased that day at the library, 242 Main Street, Andes, for a suggested donation of $10. Admission for children is free.
The gardens chosen, range from country estates to brook side back-yard gems, from mountainside retreats to displays of heritage blooms cultivated over many years. They form a distinctive and beautiful collection to enjoy, admire and cull for ideas.
In most cases the owners will be in attendance to answer questions. All the gardens are in the Town of Andes, within the hamlet or a short drive beyond. Call the library, 676-3333, with any questions. Reservations are not required for this self-guided tour. Proceeds will go toward the construction and landscaping of parking area behind the library.
For those not familiar with Andes, there are a number of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a midday meal or purchase food for take-out.
