Funeral services held for Arkville fall victim
Funeral services were held Friday at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home in Saugerties for Lynne N. Jaeger, the Illinois woman who died last Monday night after falling head-first from the abutment of the railroad bridge just east of Arkville.
The fall occurred after Jaeger, 26, and her husband, Kevin, formerly of Saugerties, left the maze on the Erpf estate in Arkville with two friends. She was pronounced dead at Margaretville Memorial Hospital, and an autopsy conducted in Binghamton showed that she died instantly from her injuries, which included a fractured skull.
Jaeger leaves behind a young son, Isaiah.
She was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. At the time of her death, she was enrolled in the nursing program at Southern University of Illinois-Edwardsville, where she was recently named to the Dean’s List for the 2008 spring semester.
Additional funeral services were held Tuesday at Cahokia Park United Methodist Church in Cahokia, IL, and a military burial was planned in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, an American military cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
