Freshtown donates food to community; Easter Bunny makes store visit

Margaretville — Since its appearance in Margaretville in February, the new Freshtown store, in the former location of the A&P, has been giving back to the local community.
With the help of its customers, the store has been making regular donations of groceries to local food pantries. Items are donated by shoppers who drop their contributions in the food pantry bins located at the front of the store.
“We at Freshtown would like to continue [to] expand this program to meet the needs of our community,” the company said in a press release. “Freshtown takes pride in creating a culture of success within [its] stores. We believe building relationships within the community is the key to our success.
The store accepts any donations to the local food pantries, which can be picked up by pantry administrators at their convenience. Any organizations that feel they might benefit from this program are encouraged to call 586-2628 or to talk to Mary or Michelle at the Freshtown store.
This weekend, children are invited to visit the Easter Bunny at Freshtown and to enjoy coloring activities. The Easter Bunny will be present noon-4 p.m. on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11.
