'For Arts Sake' benefit auction
Roxbury — Performances, workshops, exhibits, arts education, grants, arts advocacy, and community - in a nutshell that is what the Roxbury Arts Group (RAG) is all about.
On Saturday, July 20 beginning at 3 p.m. RAG invites you to join them at the Roxbury Arts Center for ‘For Arts’ Sake’, a special fundraising event featuring a silent and live auction of fine art, crafts and jewelry that has been contributed by over 60 regional artists. All the funds raised at this event will go to support the programs offered by RAG and the participating artists.
For over three decades the RAG has worked to offer high-quality arts programming in Delaware County. This year alone the RAG will offer over 50 in-school and after-school art programs, over 300 days of performances, workshops, exhibits, special community events at their venues in Roxbury, Stamford, and the Denver-Vega Valley, and award over $25,000 in grants to support artists and arts programs across Delaware County.
This year, over 60 artists have contributed over 100 pieces of art. “There is truly something for everyone,” says Andrew Weiss, president of the Board of Directors, “and the best part is that you have a chance to take the artwork home with you.”
Live auction component
In addition to the silent auction, this year ‘For Arts’ Sake’ organizers Mary Sheerin and Doree Hubar have added a live auction component, providing a new level of excitement to this event.
