Food for Thought workshop planned by Writers in the Mountains
Roxbury — Writers in the Mountains is offering a six-week workshop, Food for Thought on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon from February 24 through March 31. The workshop, facilitated by Ann Epner, provides an opportunity for writers of all experience levels to indulge thoughts, feelings and memories about food through poems, essays, short stories, family recipes, anything that expresses the writer’s relationship with food.
Epner says, “ Food is not only necessary for life, it plays a dominant role in our lives. Whether we’re compulsive dieters or seekers after the perfect, unforgettable meal.” Participants will read some of the short classic and contemporary writings on food and bring short pieces to class. “This will be a cozy mid-winter break,” says Epner. “Everyone has something to say about food, and the emphasis will be on the telling and not on the skill level. “
The workshop will be held at the Walt Meade Gallery of The Roxbury Arts Group on Vega Mountain Rd. The cost of the workshop is $60. Register online at writersinthemountains.org or call 607 326-7908.
