Fleischmanns First brings art to Wagner Avenue ball field
Fleischmanns — Twenty children, ages 7-12, responded to the open call for drawings earlier this spring from the Fleischmanns First Art Project Committee. The drawings were reviewed and interpreted by the committee as inspiration for its first art beautification project, a mural on the concession stand at the Wagner Avenue ball field.
A system of grids developed by Fred Woller, the committee’s art director, facilitated the transfer of the inspiration drawing into a mural on the east side of the concession stand. All children who submitted drawings were asked to join in the painting of the mural on Saturday, Aug. 21.The sun was shining and spirits were high. The children who participated included: Shania Bosley, Nicole Brybag, Kaitlyn Brybag, Joseph Brybag, Kevin Johnson, Ken Johnson, Jackson Kowatch, Dani Misner, Nicole Mitchell, Pado Trani, Salvatore Trani and AC Lamvinicio. After the hard work was done, everyone attended a pizza party to celebrate the children who painted and submitted drawings. Their work is on display at the Zoom Gallery on Main Street through September 7.
Members of the Fleischmanns First Art Project Committee who made this community effort become a reality are Yvonne Reuter, Fred Woller, Lynne Collins, Carol Birnbaum, Paula DeSimone and Gloria Zola Mulloy.
